Smart Content is used to add dynamic and intelligent recommended items to a message. The content of the Smart Content is based on algorithms that analyze the behavior of other visitors on the website. For example, present your contacts with trending items that are currently a lot looked at. Or when buying a product and sending a confirmation email, present your contact with products that are often bought together.
Note: The content of the Smart Content is rendered at open time of the email or at page view time. When the contacts opens the message again, the same recommended content is displayed.
To add a Smart Content to the message, drag it from the components panel onto the desired space and click it.
The properties panel is displayed.
Select the Smart Content to use in the message. These Smart Content are configured in Recommendations. (For more information on how to create these Smart Content, please check out this chapter.
Set the number of recommendations that should be returned.
Set the number of columns to display. For example, 3 columns and 6 recommendations will display two rows of three recommendations.
Note: A check is made to verify if the selected combination of number of recommendations and columns is possible.
When done press Save
Note: A maximum of 20 items can be recommended within a single Smart Content block.
The number of Smart Content components that can be used in pages and emails is not limited.
Copy Smart Content to other languages
By default, when adding new Content Components to a message, only the structure of the component is copied automatically to other languages. However, using the function ‘copy content to other languages’, you can now copy the component with its content to one or more languages.
This option is available once the component is placed onto the message.
Click the icon ‘copy content to other languages’ visible when viewing the component properties.
A dialog is displayed in which the target languages can be selected.
